The Opportunity

Consor is currently seeking a PE with specialization in Hydraulic Modeling and who can support comprehensive and technical planning located in Hawaii. This is a growth position for a career-oriented person who is seeking an opportunity to work with one of the most reputable hydraulic modeling and planning groups in Hawaii on a broad range of applications across water, wastewater, stormwater infrastructure planning and design, and scour assessments at bridges across the state. At Consor, you will build on your modeling skills to develop technical expertise, and be mentored into roles that support, and eventually lead planning work. 

 

In this role, you will build skills in innovative modeling tools with a wide range of applicability across multiple types of planning and analysis applications in bridge scour evaluations, wastewater, and water distribution. You will collaborate in an open, flexible, and friendly work environment. The ideal candidate can contribute to the development of design plans and specifications for bridge hydraulic and scour mitigation, coastal design, utility master plans, delivery of on-call requests, technical analysis of collection systems, and support of preliminary and post-design services, among others. There will be the opportunity for creative problem-solving customized 2D and 3D modeling programs, HECRAS modeling, python scripting, GIS application, and specialized tool development.

 

Potential Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyzing rainfall, flow, and operational data for trends and applicability in modeling
  • Performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for model development, calibration, scenario planning and options analysis, and technical planning
  • Managing tasks and working with small multidisciplinary technical teams
  • Working directly with public works staff and delivering exceptional client service
  • Writing technical memorandums, engineering reports, and planning studies

Required Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited school
  • 5 + years of relevant experience in bridge scour evaluations, water distribution and/or sewer collection system modeling
  • Strong background in closed conduit, open channel hydraulics, and pump station operations
  • Background in analyzing flow monitoring and rainfall data
  • Proven technical report writing skills
  • Ability to utilize GIS for analysis, model integration, and figure generation
  • Proficient with Modeling software similar to HECRAS, GEO-HECRAS, 2D SRH SMS, EPASWMM, EPANET, SWMM, InfoWater, InfoSWMM, WaterCAD/GEMs, SewerCAD/GEMs, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a level of attention to detail.
