The Opportunity

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Payroll Coordinator to support the organization’s payroll team in processing bi-weekly payrolls for approximately 2000 employees.  The ideal candidate will have experience processing a full-cycle, multi-state payroll in a fast-paced environment.  The role requires someone who is highly organized, proficient in payroll procedures, produces accurate and timely results and demonstrates a willingness to learn. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing payroll for 2000 employees on a bi-weekly basis.
  • With a high amount of accuracy and attention to detail, process new hires, changes and terminations for multi-state payroll using ADP WorkForce Now.
  • Assist Senior Payroll Specialist and Managers with various tasks as needed.
  • Provide rate back-up for Certified Payrolls and audit request. 
  • Supports Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll Process, ensuring timely and accurate payment and filing.
  • Review and approve timecards in compliance with Federal and State laws as well as company policies.
  • Maintain payroll files and record keeping.
  • Generate payroll reports as needed.
  • Performs various HR cross-over responsibilities as requested.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance. 

Required Credentials

  • 2 – 5 years of payroll experience, preferably working in a multi-state company.
  • Canada payroll experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in ADP WorkForce Now or similar HCM software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong Excell skills a must.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Understanding of HR, benefit, and payroll wage and hour laws, tax laws, functions, and processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
