Ready to make your mark and work on exciting transportation projects throughout the Pacific Northwest? We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated, talented civil engineer to join Consor as a Senior Bridge Design Engineer in our Oregon & Washington Transportation Planning and Design Team.

Yearly Salary Range $90,000-$150,000

 

Office Location(s):  Portland, Bend, Eugene, Salem and Vancouver WA

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a Senior Bride Design Engineer, leading both bridge design engineers and technicians
  • Serve as a Project Manager, task lead/reviewer/design engineer preparing planning studies, design calculations, specifications, and technical reports, load ratings, quantities, cost estimates, construction plans, construction schedules for different bridge, transportation, and transit structural systems projects with varying levels of size and complexity
  • Develop project approaches and/or implement project execution plans
  • Coordinate structural designs with other disciplines
  • Participate in mentoring and training less experienced engineers in the performance of job duties, career development for projects, and task management and delivery
  • Identify technical resources needed to deliver projects successfully and participate in coordinating staffing needs with group managers and other team leaders
  • Provide engineering services during construction, review construction shop drawings and contract change orders
  • Use and direct the use of computer-aided design
  • Lead or assist traditional or alternative delivery design opportunities
  • Participate in the development of Statements of Qualifications and proposals
  • Participate in determining opportunity staffing, project teaming partners, and making Go/No-Go decisions
  • Communicate with clients, participate in client and project development teams; and express clients' needs to the project team
  • Have the desire to perform as a seller-doer, business developer, Client Service Manager, or Client Service Team member to build long-term and growing relationships with clients

What You'll Need

  • Master of Science or higher degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus
  • Oregon State SE License with a bridge focus or Washington State SE License if the location is Vancouver.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in bridge and transportation, of which not less than 5 years shall have been designing and delivering transportation projects in the role of Project Engineer or Lead Design Engineer in Oregon or Washington
  • Possess working knowledge of analytical and design finite element software packages and CAD programs (MicroStation or AutoCAD)
  • Ability to plan and conduct work requiring judgment and independent evaluation
  • Ability to apply techniques, procedures, and criteria applicable to publicly funded transportation projects
  • Ability to work independently and achieve the expected outcomes
