What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a staff accountant, you'll be responsible for a multitude of accounting activities, included but not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, the month end close process and audit preparation. You'll reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information. The staff accountant reports to the senior accounting manager.

What You'll Do:

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Prepare journal entries to support the month end close.
  • Support various audit activities (external, internal and FAR).
  • Perform accounting functions as assigned to include A/P, A/R, Fixed Assets and Tax Filings.
  • Analyze financial reports and records.
  • Ensure that all deliverables comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Contribute to other department and organization special projects as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years experience in accounting or finance.
  • CPA or pursuit of CPA preferred.
  • Experience with Vision, Vantagepoint, or other Deltek products preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel with ability to create formula driven spreadsheets, familiarity with pivot table, vlookup, xlookup and other summarizing tools is a plus.
  • This office job primarily operates in a professional office and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May occasionally be exposed to noise. While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee may include constantly sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, and coordination. This job will rarely require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
