What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Construction Manager, you will take full ownership of delivering complex construction projects, particularly pavement, runway/taxiway, and airfield infrastructure, within a dynamic, safety‑critical airport environment. You’ll lead project teams, oversee field operations, manage project controls, and serve as the main point of coordination among contractors, airport stakeholders, design partners, and regulatory agencies.

You will ensure construction is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with FAA regulations, airport standards, and contract requirements.

This position offers a highly competitive salary, long‑term stability, and the chance to play a key leadership role on major airfield‑focused infrastructure projects. Selected candidates will participate in a formal interview with the Houston Airport System.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee daily construction activities on airfield projects, ensuring adherence to FAA standards, airport operational constraints, and safety requirements.
  • Deliver projects from planning through close‑out while ensuring on‑time, on‑budget, and high‑quality execution.
  • Drive safety culture on‑site, enforcing OSHA and airport‑specific safety programs.
  • Develop, manage, and regularly monitor detailed project schedules, budgets, work phasing plans, and resource allocations.
  • Maintain strict control of project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, daily reports, and progress logs.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with airport representatives, contractors, design teams, regulatory agencies, and internal project staff.
  • Facilitate communication and problem‑solving to ensure timely resolution of issues affecting schedule, cost, or quality.
  • Lead and mentor assistant project managers, inspectors, and support staff.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional development across the project team.

What You'll Need:

  • Minimum 5 years of construction management experience, with direct airfield experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of FAA standards, airfield operations, and phased construction in active airport environments.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, not required.
  • OSHA 10‑hour certification.
