Position Type
Regular Full-Time

What Your Day Will Look Like:

We’re looking for a firsthand Deltek expert who pairs deep technical skills (especially SQL Server) with strong business acumen. In this role, you’ll own the stability, configuration, and evolution of Deltek Vantagepoint (and related systems), partnering closely with Finance & Accounting to streamline processes, improve data integrity, and enable better reporting and decision-making. You’ll troubleshoot complex issues, manage cross-system data, and drive enhancements that make the business run smarter and faster.

You’ll excel here if you: understand how Deltek really operates, can model and query data in SQL Server cold, and enjoy solving end-to-end problems across systems, not just inside Deltek.

This can be a fully remote position

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the primary owner for Deltek Vantagepoint (and prior Vision as applicable): configuration, administration, security, and day-to-day support.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve functional issues across the Deltek ERP ecosystem, escalating to vendors when needed and ensuring root-cause fixes.
  • Manage release cycles: assess impact, configure and test updates/patches/new features, and coordinate deployments.
  • Function as the SQL Server SME: design and maintain schemas, views, stored procedures, and perform T-SQL for reporting, integrations, and data quality checks.
  • Understand how data interacts across systems (e.g., Deltek, HRIS/CRM/data warehouse/BI); maintain end-to-end data flow and ensure reconciliation.
  • Coordinate and execute data migration efforts with integration teams; ensure mapping, validation, and auditability.
  • Collaborate with Finance/Accounting to optimize the use of Deltek (projects, billing, time & expense, revenue, WIP, AR/AP, reporting).
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and enhance system capabilities; translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Serve as the bridge between technical teams and business users; gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and communicate timelines.
  • Create documentation (process maps, runbooks, SOPs, data dictionaries) and conduct training to empower end-users.
  • Ensure system usage aligns with internal controls, governance standards, and federal regulations (e.g., GAAP, FAR/DFARS if applicable).
  • Maintain awareness of accounting updates and implement system/process changes as needed.
  • Uphold data quality, privacy, and security best practices across environments.
  • Vendor and license management (as applicable); participate in budget planning for tools/services.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years working in Deltek Vantagepoint or Vision in a functional/technical role with firsthand system ownership.
  • SQL Server expert: advanced T‑SQL, query optimization, indexing, performance tuning, SSMS; familiarity with SSIS or other ETL tools a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data models and integration patterns (APIs, flat-file exchanges, scheduled jobs).
  • Experience supporting integrations with tools like HRIS/Payroll, CRM, and BI platforms.
  • Business Acumen: Solid grasp of finance/accounting flows (projects, billing, revenue recognition, close), able to partner with Finance without needing to be a CPA.
  • Troubleshooting: Advanced diagnostic skills, able to isolate issues across applications, data, and integration layers and deliver durable fixes.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent stakeholder management; skilled at translating business requirements into technical deliverables.
